In advanced of the AGM in October the KBKA committee want to hear from the club's membership what you want from your club.

New club members may or may not realise that the club was reborn in 2008 from a nucleus of four people. It has grown rapidly since then and now has over 50 members with varying experience and potentially many more hands to help run and get involved with the club. The current committee has got the club back on its feet but knows that another big step up is now required. 

You will have read the plans the committee has for 2010/2011 including the Winter meeting schedule, attempting to find our own apiary site, new committee posts for education/ training, social secretary and publicity. We are planning to run our own introductory courses in the winter and spring too.

A number of club members helped Fee present the KBKA to the public at the Lacock Bee & Honey Day


Fee and her helpers sold 29 jars of the clubs honey and 3* 1oz bars of wax.

At the Wiltshire county honey show in October the Kennet Beekeepers Association was awarded the Howard Teal Cup. The Howard Teal Cup is awarded by Wiltshire Beekeepers Association’s Chairman annually to the best county club that year. The award of the Howard Teal Cup to Kennet Beekeepers was a great honour and shows the faith the County Committee have in us, and our commitment to take the Branch forward. At our November meeting Jerry Wickham, Chairman of the WBKA came along, spoke about the award, gave us a clap on the back and some more encouragement.
