Email & Discussion Lists

The club maintains three "email lists" that allow committee members and club members to communicate via email (with out having to keep track of everbody's email address.) The three lists are:

If you want/ need to be added to any of the lists, or your email address changes, please contact the club's webmaster (webmaster @ kennet-beekeepers.co.uk) or the club secretary. If you have missed a message you can check the archives of all messages using the links above.

Member to Member email list
There is an email list for use by members of the KBKA who want to share information or ask for advice or assistance from other club members. The email list is intended to allow members to exchange (where relevant to other members of the KBKA)

  • Club news
  • Notice of events
  • Questions (and hopefully their answers)
  • Equipment sales and availability of services
  • (And so on)
You can only send emails to the list if you are an approved member of the list. All members of the KBKA and WBKA, members of other local bee keeping clubs, past members and BKA members are welcome to become members of the list as long as they accept and abide by the simple rules listed below.
 
Note: The list is not moderated, in that each email is NOT checked before being forwarded to the group. Therefore there is a small risk that you may recieved unwanted email until the group moderator removes the spammer or offending individual from the list.

KBKA eMail list Rules
The following rules are intended to promote the widest possible use of the email list by KBKA members.
 
     0. Use of the list is at the discretion of the webmaster and committee and anyone abusing the list will be suspended from it initially and removed from it if deemed necessary by further abuse.
  1. A request to join the list is an indication that you accept the rules governing its use (listed on this page)
  2. Use and membership of the list is open to all club members, members of other local bee keeping clubs, past members and BKA members. 
  3. All messages to the list should be free from swear words, slander, racial abuse and sexist remarks
  4. Emails such as forwarded collections of jokes, pictures, screen savers and so on, unrelated to bee keeping, are not welcome
  5. Emails must be free from personal or derogatory comments about individuals or members of the club or other persons.
  6. Advertising of commercial enterprises is not allowed. (This does not exclude advertising of relevant (beekeeping related) personal services and sales of equipment that would be of interest to other club members.)
